Indigenous Health and Healing in the area of Opioid Substance Use Disorder
Join us for an engaging training conversation exploring the principles and practices of Indigenous health and healing in the area of Opioid Substance Use disorder. This program introduces participants to traditional approaches to wellness, cultural perspectives on health, and the interconnectedness of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being in Indigenous communities as they confront the impacts of the opioid and substance misuse epidemic.
Led by two facilitators who possess a wealth of expertise and experience in the area of Indigenous Health and Healing, John Molina, MD, JD, LHD and Stephanie O. Little Hawk-Big Crow (Tituwan Lakota-Oglala) D.B.A.-HCAL, M.Ed., this training will: Highlight traditional healing practices and their relevance today Provide insight into the social determinants of health affecting Indigenous peoples Offer guidance on culturally safe and respectful ways of working with Indigenous communities.
